We want students to find a career they love and a future that excites them. Our CareerCentral services include a dedicated careers portal, careers advice and guidance, CV writing and interview skills, work experience opportunities, networking events and direct links to businesses. There are also numerous volunteering opportunities including supporting charities, working with environmental projects, mentoring young people, or contributing to on-campus broadcasting, theatre, or journalism.
When they study with us, students have lots of opportunities for real-world experiences. These include putting what they’ve learnt into practice, enhancing their studies with a placement or internship, studying abroad or even the creation of their own business.
Placements and internships are a fantastic way to improve skills, gain real-life experience and build valuable contacts. At UEA, students will have access to a wide range of potential employers, locally, nationally and globally.
The UEA Internship Programme helps increase workplace confidence and will challenge students to apply their skills to exciting and innovative live projects in a range of sectors. This is also a great opportunity to secure paid part-time opportunities while studying, as well as part-time and full-time opportunities during the holiday periods. The programme comes highly recommended by more than 96% of former interns and 91% of graduate interns told us that their internship helped them secure their current job.
Studying abroad is an unforgettable experience that can give students the edge over other graduates. Students can develop the skills that employers are searching for while living and studying in another country, learning about a different culture and becoming truly independent. Studying at one of UEA’s partner universities across the globe, students can choose from a wide variety of academic topics and open up a world of new perspectives and opportunities.
Our Enterprise Centre gives students the chance to meet like-minded peers, collaborate and innovate with them, and bring their business ideas to life. Students can take advantage of one-to-one business coaching, mentoring, skills workshops, grants, funding and competitions – all aimed at helping them become a fully-fledged entrepreneur.
