TEACHING AND LEARNING REVIEW

Would your teaching and learning review benefit from some extra external support as well as an impartial perspective? Michael can join or chair your team of lesson observers using either your own existing approach to lessons reviews or he can help you to customise one. Michael is a trusted voice in post 16 teaching and learning and offers a helpful outside perspective that can bolster the messages that result from the process. Feel free to customise the process by adding in teacher and student voice panels. Michael can also collate and analyse the lesson observation data to produce your centre report. If you’d like Michael to return and work through an action plan, that is also possible.

Possible format - 1 day learning review + options to add 1 day report writing + add 1 day action planning

POST 16 REVIEW

A comprehensive appraisal of the whole post 16 experience which generally includes: smaller-scaled post 16 teaching and learning review, subject leader and student voice focus groups, PSHE review, curriculum review with a view to supporting student outcomes and recruitment. Michael will produce a Review Report with a suggested action plan. There is also the option for Michael to work with a small team onsite to work through the action plan to help ensure the process has the desired impact.

VIRTUAL CONSULTATION

Book by the hour to talk through issues relating to post 16 - Ofsted, funding, recruitment, curriculum, improving outcomes and safeguarding, pastoral care and PSHE. Choose from Zoom, Teams, GoogleMeet.

INCREASING FUNDING AND RECRUITMENT

A one day on-site review of all things relating to increasing sixth form recruitment. Explore your unique challenges and opportunities, review your current marketing and recruitment processes, review your curriculum to explore options to broaden take-up, and review website and application process. Meet with a senior leader as well as sixth form leadership, sixth form students, year leaders in Year 10 & 11 as well as students in Year 10 & 11. Benefit from years of experience of being involved in sixth form recruitment and supporting other centres with their approaches.

Possible format - 1 day consisting of just over half day review + final section of the day action planning

FOUR DAY POST 16 REVIEW AND ACTION PLANNING, MAY 2022

“When we were considering a suitable person to lead our sixth form review, we knew we could be confident that Michael would bring to bear the necessary knowledge and perspective and produce an outcome grounded in pragmatism and realism. We were not disappointed. The review process Michael led engaged students and teachers in gathering a wealth of qualitative data in a very efficient manner.
