BSc (Hons) Education and Digital Learning

This degree has been designed to help prepare students to develop as digitally-trained educational professionals who are able to innovate, solve problems, and adapt to the changing demands of education. Students can gain practical experience that can be applied in the real world. They will have the chance to undertake work experience in every year of study where they will be able to work closely with peers and academic staff during personal tutorial sessions, as well as undertaking put-it-into-practice (PiiP) weeks.

BA(Hons) Social Policy

Creating effective social policies is key to tackling the big issues we face in society today such as poverty, health inequality, and unemployment. This course enables students to explore how social problems arise, how governments react, and the impact this has on citizens and communities. The BA (Hons) Social Policy degree draws on a range of social science disciplines in addition to its core focus. These include sociology, politics, philosophy, economics, and law. Students can use these approaches to examine welfare, poverty, and inequality, tackling difficult and often controversial topics, including current issues in the news.

Health and exercise professionals play an important role in tackling the health challenges we face as a society with a range of physical activity interventions. The BSc (Hons) Health and Exercise Science degree at Lincoln aims to inspire and empower students to become confident and efficient professionals. It prepares students to work with a broad array of issues in the physical activity and health development sector. The course is designed to develop students' knowledge and understanding of health, as well as the underpinning exercise science behind it. It aims to prepare students to support clients from a range of population groups, both physically and psychologically, and to prescribe evidence-based interventions according to individual requirements.

Alongside our industry-engaged approach to teaching, we have a dedicated, award-winning Careers team to support our students throughout their time at Lincoln and beyond.

The team are able to offer individual support and advice, answering queries and helping students to develop practical skills, such as building their CV and preparing for interviews. Students are supported to achieve the Lincoln Award which is an employability framework designed to develop their employability skills and demonstrate these to employers through extracurricular activities.

In addition, a variety of employability advice and support workshops and events like our annual University of Lincoln Careers Fair are delivered during the academic year which give students the opportunity to engage with top graduate recruiters from across many industry areas.

Our students also have access to CareerLinc, our online portal with vacancies for part time jobs, placements, internships and graduate roles.

Our Student Wellbeing Centre is situated at the heart of our Brayford Pool Campus and our team are available to offer support, advice and guidance with any challenges or difficulties that students may face during their academic studies.

Whether it’s concerns around disability, specific learning differences, mental health or medical conditions, as well as anything which may cause emotional or psychological distress, our team of Wellbeing Advisors, Counsellors, Student Wellbeing Education Officers and highly knowledgeable administrative staff are on hand and available to support students throughout their University journey.

Through our Multi-Faith Chaplaincy Service and Friendship Centre we also offer pastoral care, a confidential listening ear, and spiritual support to anyone in our University community, no matter whether you consider yourself religious or not.

Business and Executive Development

Our Lincoln International Business School offers hands-on experience and a professional pathway for future development through a Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship (CMDA).The programme offers recognition by the CMI through the award of Chartered Manager status, and are designed to ensure that students are equipped with the skills they need to make a positive impact within their organisations.
